Ford 3000 draft control adjustment.

I have a Ford 3000, and I have broken the draft control (touch control) arm off while backing. I need to replace it since I cannot raise and lower the brush cutter without it. I have searched for it on the internet, and I have called the local NH dealer. It's been a while since I took a flow control valve out (only did it once)but I think you need to raise it up as far as you can and at the same time use a pliers and pull the tube out of the bottom. That filter is on the suction side not exhaust. I would fix it if it doesn't require a split to do.
