Took off the pressure plate, then re-aligned the clutch and the tranny slid in like butter. Hooked up the shift linkage and driveshaft. Just for people's future information, I used a Getrag 260 on the M50 with the e36 Dual Mass Flywheel, e36 clutch kit and pressure plate, e36 throwout and pilot bearings. I looked out online and found that E34 with M20/M30 manual transmission has same gearbox. Is there any chance the gearbox could be installed on my E30?

A rebuilt m30b28 is a sweet motor, 9.0:1. If going for more hp and torque the m30/b35 is your motor, 9.0:1, 208hp, 220 or so lbs of torque.
