My LML would pretty much instantly start within less than a second of cranking when not freezing cold. Mine was loosing prime and would either stall or not start. I did 2 things to fix the problem. I rebuilt the primer on the fuel filter housing and replace the bleed screw on the filter housing. Engine must spin to 140 RPM before it will fire. If those are the original batteries, I would be suprised if they are up to the task.
